Construction and engineering company Murphy has let its 479,000ft² Hemel 465 warehouse facility on a 25-year lease to wholesale restaurant food distributor Sysco.
Located in Hemel Hempstead at Junction 8 of the M1, the warehouse is positioned to serve both the London and Midlands markets.
The vacant building, which was taken back by Murphy in 2023, was upgraded to include a new slab, multi-storey car park, hub offices and power upgrades all against a tight timetable.
Murphy group property director, Steve Faber, said: “Hemel 465 was an outstanding team effort and an exceptional example of Murphy’s multi-disciplined engineering and construction expertise.
“The result is an excellent warehouse facility for Sysco which will further enable the business’s growth plans.
“This was a complex project subject to pressing timescales which was delivered safely and on time.
“It was a real team effort with the letting secured by our longstanding legal adviser Gordons showing once again why we value the firm so highly.”
