Schneider Electric announced that it is investing S$25 million (c. £14.6m) in automation and digital technology at its 21,000m² (c. 226,000ft²) Hub Asia distribution centre in Tuas, Singapore.
Due to be completed by 2027, the investment will introduce further automation, robotics and agentic AI to support warehouse operations and planning.
The first phase of a goods-to-person (GTP) automation system has already gone live, with Schneider Electric reporting a productivity improvement of around 10% against its baseline. A second phase will introduce adaptable racking to provide greater flexibility and scalability.
Once fully deployed, the GTP system is expected to handle around 40% of outbound goods and increase productivity by up to 20%.
The facility will also be supported by an upgraded warehouse management system (WMS) with real-time dashboards, while digital twin and machine learning technology will be used to generate inventory forecasts.
According to Schneider Electric, S$19m of the investment will be directed towards recruitment and re-skilling through to 2030. The energy technology company said it plans to develop a team of 26 skilled employees to operate and manage the facility’s new automated systems.

Hub Asia was established in 2022 and supports Schneider Electric’s operations globally, including exports to Europe, North America and China.
