Global online fashion retailer Shein has announced €500 million (c. £417m) into its European Logistics Hub in Wrocław, Poland.
Reportedly, this expansion will bring the site’s workforce to 10,000 by the end of the calendar year.
The expanded facilities will result in a 25% increase in warehouse footprint, around 1 million m² (c. 10 million ft²), more than 6,500 autonomous robots and an ecosystem of more than 230 local Polish small-and-medium-sized enterprises providing goods and services to the operation.
Shein’s additional €500m (£417m) into the hub brings its total investment in Poland since 2022 to €1bn (£833m).
The news comes as online retailers battle with the new €3 (£2.50) customs duty charge, which was implemented on 1 July, on low-value shipments valued at under €150 (£125) from outside of the European Union.
Shein global head of public affairs and president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Leonard Lin, said: “Europe is a key market for Shein, and we are committed to investing in the infrastructure and capabilities needed to support our long-term growth across the region.
“Our €500m investment in Poland this year is a clear demonstration of that commitment, and of our confidence in the long-term potential of our European business.
“Poland has become a cornerstone of our European operations, and this latest investment reflects our confidence in the country, its workforce and its business environment.”
IntraLogisteX Düsseldorf will bring together logistics, fulfilment and supply chain leaders on 16-17 June 2027.
