Telecommunications company Sky recently confirmed that it has agreed a new multi-year warehousing contract with DHL Supply Chain.
The new contract builds on an existing long-term partnership between the two businesses and, DHL says, will see the logistics company ‘continue to provide expert warehousing services for Sky’s flagship product, Sky Glass’.
The announcement of this latest contract comes after DHL supported the launch of the Sky Glass Gen 2 product earlier this year, which DHL described as ‘seamless’.
As Sky plans to expand its Sky Glass range further in 2025, DHL is set to play a key role in receiving, storing and processing orders for new panels. It will also be responsible for providing accurate inventory levels and performing a series of quality checks on both new panels and customer returns.
DHL’s Milton Keynes distribution centre serves at a base of operations for its ‘highly specialised’ technical services hub, which – it says – ‘provides a range of sustainable solutions’ ranging from managing resale platforms to handling the return, repair and refurbishment of used technology.
DHL aims to continue to support Sky in reducing waste by delivering an effective circular model, and plans have been approved to transition the Milton Keynes warehouse to a carbon-neutral building by the end of 2026, aligning with both DHL and Sky’s green business commitments.
