UK-based, smart parcel locker network YEEP! has hit 4,000 lockers as it prepares to roll out new touchscreen technology.
Developed with YEEP!’s hardware partner and shareholder kernTerminal AG, Generation 3 touchscreen lockers combines the company’s solar and battery-powered technology with a new touchscreen interface designed to significantly improve the experience for both delivery drivers and consumers.
Alan Barrie, group board advisor at YEEP! and kernTerminal AG, said: “The first phase of YEEP! established the proposition, built the network and gave us a huge amount of knowledge about the market, the technology and what our carrier customers need. We’ve reached 4,000 lockers, but there’s a lot more to come.”
All new YEEP! lockers will move to the Generation 3 specification from 2 November 2026, with a programme to upgrade the existing estate by end of Q1 2027.
The new generation follows YEEP!’s progression from its original battery-powered lockers to its subsequent move to solar battery technology.
Jamie Dickinson, CEO of YEEP!, said: “Reaching 4,000 locations is a big milestone for YEEP!, and the launch of Generation 3 gives us another reason to be excited about where the business is heading.
“We’ve learnt a great deal from operating the network and from our work with kernTerminal, and we’ve used that experience to improve how the locker works for the people who interact with it every day, whether that’s a driver delivering parcels or a consumer collecting or returning one.”
Autonomous delivery, last-mile infrastructure and the challenges of moving goods through cities will be explored at Urban Logistics.
Urban Logistics, takes place at ExCeL London on 9-10 June 2027.
