UPS is investing more than US$2 billion (c. £1.47bn) across its international, healthcare and supply chain operations as it expands its global logistics infrastructure and responds to changing trade flows.
The investment programme began in 2024 and will continue through 2028, with projects spanning the Asia-Pacific, North America and Europe regions.
Among the developments is a new UPS hub at Clark Airport in the Philippines, scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2026, followed by a new facility in Barrie, Ontario, Canada, in 2027 and an air hub at Hong Kong International Airport in 2028.
These new facilities are part of UPS’s recent investments across strategic markets, including healthcare high-tech, automotive and industrial manufacturing.
Kate Gutmann, executive vice president and president of international, healthcare and supply chain solutions at UPS, said: “These investments allow us to bring air, ground, brokerage and distribution together in one solution, with fewer handoffs, more end-to-end control and less complexity.”
UPS has recently invested in 27 temperature-controlled freight cross-dock facilities designed to maintain required temperatures while transferring healthcare shipments between air and ground transport.
In Asia, the company has opened a technology-enabled logistics centre in Taiwan and expanded its Incheon air hub in South Korea, incorporating automation to increase processing capacity and speed. It is also increasing capacity across its intra-Asia air network, with flights operating five times a week between Shenzhen and Sydney and also between Paris and Hong Kong.
In Europe, UPS has established a Supply Chain Solutions facility in Amsterdam combining freight, customs brokerage and cold-chain services at a single location.
IntraLogisteX takes place in Dallas, Texas, USA on 16-17 September 2026. View the full conference agenda and register via the official website: https://www.intralogistexusa.com/
