Würth Australia has appointed Dematic to deliver automated order fulfilment systems at its distribution facilities in Yatala, Queensland and Keysborough, Victoria.
The investment will introduce AutoStore goods-to-person technology alongside manual picking operations.
Würth Australia supplies more than 22,000 products to over 56,000 active customers across sectors including automotive, transport, construction, mining and maintenance, repair and operations.
The new systems will combine high-density automated storage with split-case and full-case picking capabilities.
Dedicated manual picking areas will accommodate products with different storage and handling requirements.
Orders will move between automated and manual picking areas before passing through conveyor systems for document insertion, carton optimisation, sealing, labelling and despatch sortation.
Dematic’s warehouse control system will integrate with Würth Australia’s existing WMS to coordinate picking tasks and material movements across the automated equipment.
Serge Oppedisano, chief executive officer of Würth Australia and senior vice president of the Würth Group Oceania, said: “The customer experience is incredibly important to us here at Würth, and a big part of that is ensuring our customers receive accurate and complete orders when they expect them.”
The Yatala installation is expected to become operational in August 2027, with the larger Keysborough facility scheduled to follow in December 2027.
