Xpandur will exhibit at IntraLogisteX in Dallas on 16-17 September, showcasing a recent project that brought together nearly all of its services to tackle inventory, warehouse capacity, customer complaints and tariff challenges.
The company implemented a customer complaint resolution process that identified a pace of more than 4,000 complaints per year.
Within four weeks, it had traced 80% of the failures to one of six buildings, one shift and one person. It also identified that 30% of inventory was excess or obsolete and developed an 18-month plan to eliminate it. Finally, reducing inventory meant 30% less space was needed, creating the option to close unnecessary auxiliary warehouses.
This project took place in Q1 2025, when 145% tariffs were imposed on the country where suppliers manufactured products.
With overcapacity, particularly within the Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) space, Xpandur had 12 weeks to find a solution for 60 containers of freight that would have had a significant financial impact if the tariffs were applied.
It secured approval for available space through an FTZ addendum, which took only six weeks to process. It then moved large volumes of excess product across a small number of SKUs to make room for the incoming international freight.
