Logistics company Downton has won a five year contract worth £25 million to manage distribution for Magners cider.
The independent Gloucestershire-based company will manage warehousing and distribution for the newly extended range of Magners brands from its Avonmouth hub.
Magners’ parent company C & C Group recently acquired Gaymers Cider for £45 million. The hub will handle Magners combined cider business, including products from the Gaymers cider mill at Shepton Mallet in Somerset.
Andy Downton, managing director, said: “Although a national business with UK footprint, we are proud of our West Country roots, and cider is a big part of that regional heritage – naturally, we are delighted to be working with the company behind the country’s best known portfolio of ciders!”
