Tool make picks Mainland for UK distribution

Stanley Black and Decker, the tool company that resulted from the merger of Stanley and Black & Decker, has chosen Mainland Group to handle its UK pallet and freight distribution.

Mainland will take over operations from DHL on 1st January 2011 which will involve distribution of some 350 pallets per night. The eight staff employed under the previous contract with DHL at the Brackmills sites will transfer to work for Mainland.

The operation will be consolidated from three UK sites to Northampton along with the existing daily inbound movements from Belgium.

Mainland is based in Northampton and is a member of the Pall-Ex network.
