Pork Farms, which manufactures and distributes sausage rolls and other pork foods across the UK, has renewed its contract for the supply of materials handling equipment with Briggs.
Pork Farms operates from four UK sites including, Market Drayton, Shaftsbury, Queensdrive and Riverside. Briggs runs a total fleet of 24 long-term rental machines.
The new fleet consists of five counterbalance trucks and two reach trucks as well as an additional two power pallet trucks.
Briggs conducted a site survey to match truck capacity with operations. The old battery powered trucks were replaced with gas powered ones to ensure immediate truck availability for time-critical operations.
Dan Carley, sales executive for Briggs Equipment said: “We were able to reduce the fleet to seven machines and save them at least £18,000 over the contract.”
For example a rotator truck used to remove the waste from site. By replacing the rotator attachment and standardising its use across three counterbalance machines, uptime has increased.
