Yusen Logistics has been officially launched in Russia, Spain, Benelux, the Czech Republic and Italy.
The new business unites two NYK divisons, NYK Logistics and Yusen Air & Sea Service, into a one-stop shop offering warehousing, distribution, air/ocean freight forwarding and supply chain management in one package.
Yusen has specialist experience in the automobile, consumer electronics, retail, pharmaceutical and environmental equipment sectors.
Alex Okamoto, managing director, Yusen Logistics Europe, said: “By bringing together NYK Logistics and YAS, Yusen Logistics offers a valuable all-in-one service. We are highly adaptable, both in terms of the services we provide and the sectors in which we operate. By covering five regional markets at once, today represents a major step forward in the integration of our two businesses in Europe.”
NYK announced the merger in November saying: “Yusen Logistics brings together our global expertise in air freight forwarding, ocean freight forwarding, land transport and customs clearance as well as logistics solution design, implementation and operation.”
Yusen Logistics will be managed globally through five strategic areas that emphasize both the global and local aspects of each area: Japan, East Asia, South Asia & Oceania, Europe and the Americas.
