PepsiCo has awarded a contract for part of its warehousing and distribution in Poland to Kuehne + Nagel.
Under the agreement Kuehne + Nagel will be responsible for the inbound transport from Polish manufacturing sites and for the management of five regional distribution centres.
PepsiCo expects this outsourcing deal to improve customer service, reduce supply chain costs and to minimise the environmental impact of its transportation operations.
The logistics firm will deliver goods to some 40 local cross-dock platforms which are it also manages. The first regional distribution centre went into operation in June and the others are set to follow in the next few months.
