A newly formed logistics firm has bought most of Partner Logistics, including 80 per cent of its pallet capacity, two of its three UK storage sites, and its trade name.

The new company called Ice Cold Storage Holding has taken on 85 of Partner Logistics’ employees, including the infrastructure and management team.

The sites involved in the deal are in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire and Gloucester and hold some 150,000 pallets at temperatures as low as -28°C.

Jon Miles head of UK operations for Partner Logistics said: “This deal will bring long-term security for our customers, plus stability for all of the Partner Logistics team in the UK.

“It will also mean that we have a stable base from which to launch any new projects in the UK, when appropriate opportunities arise in the future.”

Ice Cold Storage Holdings has also bought Dutch sites at Bergen Op Zoom, Waalwijk, Bodegraven and Ieper in Belgium.

The former Partner Logistics site at Hams Hall, Birmingham, and several former Partner Logistics sites in Europe were excluded from the deal.
