Clipper Logistics has taken on DMF Projects to create almost half a million sq ft of additional warehousing space at its Wynyard Park, distribution centre, to house a 2 million item hanging garment operation for a retail client.
DMF supplied a three tier mezzanine at the DC near Billingham in the Tees Valley.
The installation gives a floor area of 125 metres by 121.5 metres, with each level providing a total decked area of approximately 157,153 sq ft.
This will allow the site to handle volumes of over three million items per week in future.
Business implementation manager Phil Houghton said: “We needed a distribution centre that could handle garment volumes that are expected to grow exponentially over the next few years, while providing added space for other new business growth.”
