Deutsche Post DHL is targeting annual growth of 13-15 per cent in its DHL business to meet its target of a total group EBIT of €3.35 bn to €3.55 bn in 2015.
As a result, the EBIT contribution of DHL is expected to rise to €2.7 bn to €2.9 bn through the end of this time period.
It expects the Mail division’s EBIT contribution to stabilise at a level of at least €1 bn. At the same time, the company anticipates Corporate Centre/Other expenditures to decline to €350 m.
The group describes itself as: “The Postal Service for Germany” and “The Logistics Company for the World”.
Setting out the strategy at the group’s annual meeting, chief executive officer Frank Appel told shareholders: “Effective, efficient logistics plays a fundamental role in the competitiveness of companies, markets and societies. As the world’s leading postal and logistics group, we assume this responsibility and consider it an integral component to our business approach.”
For 2013, Deutsche Post DHL is forecasting Group EBIT to increase to between €2.7 bn and €2.95 bn.
