John Lewis has announced a major expansion of its rapid delivery service alongside website and mobile app enhancements.
By partnering with Deliveroo and Uber Eats, the retailer is aiming to make approximately 10,000 products available in as little as 30 minutes to customers within the catchment area of eight stores across London and select home counties.
This includes Oxford Street, Peter Jones, Welwyn Garden City, Bluewater, and Kingston as the retailer looks to strengthen its’ omnichannel footprint.
To further enhance convenience and support modern shopping habits, John Lewis is also embracing AI-powered discovery.
With traffic from digital assistants continuing to grow year-on-year, the retailer is ensuring product ranges are easily discoverable and is currently developing a brand-new AI-powered product finder set to launch in time for Christmas.
John Lewis has delivered over 1.3 million items directly from its shops to customers since scaling deliver-from-store, unlocking local store stock to fulfil online orders and helping customers purchase items that would have traditionally been shown as out of stock online.
Dom McBrien, chief digital and omnichannel officer at John Lewis, said: “Bringing the best of John Lewis into our customers’ daily lives is at the heart of our transformation.
“Whether shoppers are seeking expert advice from Partners in our stores, picking up an order via click and collect, or ordering via our Deliveroo or Uber Eats for delivery in 30 minutes, we are meeting them wherever they are with trusted quality and exceptional service.
“By expanding our rapid delivery option alongside major website upgrades, we are giving customers ultimate convenience and flexibility without ever compromising on the service they expect from John Lewis.”
