Forklift trucks, warehouse equipment and automation supplier KION Group has expanded its presence in Southeast Asia with the launch of a new entity in Indonesia.
The new operation, based in Jakarta, is intended to support growing demand for material handling and warehouse automation solutions in one of Asia’s fastest-growing logistics markets.
With a population exceeding 280 million, Indonesia is the world’s fourth most populous nation and an increasingly important market for logistics infrastructure. Since 2022, annual demand for material handling equipment in Indonesia has exceeded 10,000 units.
“Indonesia presents significant opportunities for growth. This expansion enables us to bring our full portfolio of innovative solutions closer to local customers – from industry-leading electric forklifts to advanced warehouse automation systems,” said Chingpong Quek, KION Group board member, chief technology officer and president of KION ITS APAC.
Through its brand Linde Material Handling, KION has been active in Indonesia for 30 years and has delivered more than 4,000 units in the market. The company also confirmed the appointment of several new dealers to extend its reach across different market segments in Indonesia.
“The new entity reflects our long-term commitment to the Indonesian market and our confidence in Southeast Asia’s growth potential,” Quek added.
