Roland Bosch has been appointed the new CEO of DB Cargo. Bosch, who is currently a board member at DB Netz AG, will begin the role next month.
“Roland Bosch is an outstanding colleague and an experienced rail manager, and I am very pleased to have him as the new CEO of DB Cargo,” said Berthold Huber, the board member for passenger transport, freight transport and logistics at Deutsche Bahn. “With his international background and deep knowledge of the interfaces and interdependencies between infrastructure and rail operations, he is the ideal choice. His knowledge offers an outstanding basis for making lasting improvements to quality and reliability at DB Cargo, and he will also be focussing in particular on establishing a healthy economic foundation for the company.”
Bosch was appointed CFO of DB Netz AG, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn, in October 2010. Since 2013, Bosch has served as the Board Member for Production at DB Netz AG.
Bosch will now be responsible for 30,000 employees in 16 European countries. He takes over the role from Dr Jürgen Wilder, who chose to leave DB Cargo in late October by mutual agreement with the company.
