Cleaning and catering wholesaler WARE UK is implementing a new warehouse management system (WMS) at its Knowsley site to support its distribution and e-commerce operations.
The move is intended to ensure the facility can scale in line with continued business growth in the Liverpool area.
The Mecalux WMS will manage and monitor all goods movements within the warehouse, which receives 10-12 inbound lorry deliveries each day. The system will classify products by family on arrival, while a portion of inbound goods will be cross-docked to minimise handling and speed up order fulfilment.
WARE has a catalogue of more than 40,000 products.
“We need to guarantee traceability for our SKUs, which include janitorial, tableware, glassware and packaging solutions,” said Jon Crossfield, operations manager at WARE UK.
“With Easy WMS, we’ll gain complete stock visibility, allowing us to control inventory with greater accuracy.”
The WMS will integrate with WARE’s transport management system, enabling automated carrier selection based on delivery destination.
A labour performance module will also be deployed to analyse warehouse activity and productivity. This tool will “help the company plan resources more effectively, balance workloads and improve overall logistics efficiency,” Mecalux said.
Mecalux is exhibiting at IntraLogisteX 2026, which takes place on 18-19 March 2026 at the NEC Birmingham. For exhibitor information and visitor registration, visit the official event website at www.intralogistex.co.uk
