Plastic injection moulding products manufacturer WHS Plastics has moved into its new state-of-the-art 75,000 sq ft national distribution centre in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands.

The £3.5 million facility will provide logistics for customers including Jaguar Land Rover, Toyota, Bentley and Aston Martin. It replaces three warehouses currently on the site.

WHS Plastics said it had also put in place a warehouse management system (WMS) from an unspecified vendor, managing stockholding and inbound and outbound movements as well as semi-autonomous forklift trucks. The centre has also been fitted out with a new £500,000 racking system, which will provide an additional 35,000 sq ft of warehousing capacity.

Paul Nicholson, Group Managing Director at WHS Plastics, said: “Whilst the pandemic has been a challenging period, we believe that we can come out of this period even stronger. Our significant investment is designed to continue to provide the very best support to our largest market, the UK automotive sector, as well as other sectors, by providing a first-class distribution service.”
