VNA racking maximises storage

The Widdowson Group, which offers a variety of services including storage, distribution and freight forwarding, has been supplied with a very narrow aisle (VNA) racking solution to provide 14,000 pallet locations for its 10,230sq m state-of-the-art warehouse at Bardon, Leicestershire. The racking was supplied by Linpac Storage Systems.

The warehouse is sole customer occupation and its storage is devoted to electrical goods, which arrive loose loaded. The workforce build their own pallets which are then shrink-wrapped, labelled and placed onto one of the 22 aisles of 10m high, 83.5m long VNA racking.

Nick Abbott, senior operations manager at Widdowson, comments: “Fast moving supply chains require modern warehousing fitted out with quality racking and equipment. We believe that the storage solution in our Bardon warehouse maximises the storage capacity of the building whilst providing our customers and workforce with an efficient, adaptable and safe solution.”

Linpac Storage Systems is one of several storage solutions specialists exhibiting at Logistics Link North, which is being held on September 22 and 23 at Doncaster Racecourse, Leger Way, Doncaster. For further information contact Richard Milbourn on 020 8661 1160 or visit
